It is a sumptuous Indian sweet made with roasted besan (gram flour), infused with aromatic cardamom and saffron, and sweetened with a rich, thick brown sugar syrup. Its indulgent, smooth consistency offers a delightful treat for dessert lovers.

I have used Ghee and Brown Sugar from Nutty yogi to make this modern way of Mohanthal. There Ghee is very pure and the aroma is bliss.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Besan
  • ½ cup Brown Sugar from Nutty Yogi
  • ½ cup Ghee from Nutty Yogi
  • ½ cup Water
  • ¼ cup Milk
  • Saffron
  • Cardamom
Recipe:
  • Boil water, brown sugar, cardamom, and saffron until sticky.
  • Mix besan with 1 tbsp ghee and 2 tbsp milk in a bowl.
  • Heat ghee in a pan, add besan mix, and roast for 20-25 mins until golden.
  • Pour in remaining milk, cook for 2-3 mins.
  • Add brown sugar syrup, cook till thickened.
  • Turn off heat, let it cool, and enjoy your liquid Mohanthal!
